Built Around One Idea: Driving Should Be Simple
Velora was started to give Kuala Lumpur residents an easier path to personal mobility — without the paperwork of ownership, the overhead of a new purchase, or the unpredictability of day-to-day rentals.
← Back to HomeHow Velora Came to Be
Velora started from a straightforward observation: many people in Kuala Lumpur needed a personal vehicle for months at a time but found the short-term rental market poorly suited to extended use, and the ownership route either too expensive or too much of a commitment.
The founders — a small group with backgrounds in fleet management and customer operations — spent several months in 2022 speaking to working professionals, people relocating for project-based contracts, and families dealing with temporary transport gaps. What they heard was consistent: the main frustrations were unpredictable costs, poor communication when problems arose, and the feeling of being just another transaction.
Velora was registered in Kuala Lumpur in early 2023. The first vehicles went out under the Basic Plan that April. Since then, the team has grown gradually, adding capacity where demand showed up rather than racing to scale before the processes were solid.
Today, Velora handles three-month, six-month, and twelve-month arrangements from a base in Bukit Bintang. The approach hasn't changed much from the beginning: a small team, well-maintained vehicles, clear terms, and someone available when something doesn't go to plan.
People Behind the Arrangement
A small, experienced team that handles vehicle management, customer relations, and logistics day to day.
Ahmad Hafizi
Co-Founder & Operations
Ahmad spent eight years coordinating corporate fleet programmes before co-founding Velora. He oversees vehicle readiness and the servicing schedule for all active arrangements.
Siti Liyana
Customer Experience Lead
Siti manages onboarding, handles ongoing customer queries, and coordinates the quarterly review process for premium plan subscribers. She is the main point of contact for most active renters.
Rajan Kumar
Fleet & Logistics
Rajan handles vehicle inspection, preparation, and swap logistics. He coordinates with service centres and manages the condition records for each vehicle in the Velora fleet.
How We Keep the Fleet Road-Ready
Each vehicle that leaves our hands for a long-term arrangement has passed through a defined preparation and documentation process.
Pre-Rental Inspection
Every vehicle goes through a documented check before handover — covering mechanical condition, tyre wear, fluid levels, and interior state. A written record is shared with the renter at onboarding.
Scheduled Servicing
Maintenance is booked in advance based on manufacturer intervals and actual mileage. Renters are notified well ahead of time, and swap vehicles are arranged where needed so the arrangement isn't disrupted.
Documentation Compliance
All vehicles are maintained with current road tax and coverage throughout the rental period. Documentation is reviewed and renewed proactively — renters do not need to track these dates.
Assistance During Business Hours
Basic and standard plans include weekday roadside assistance. The premium plan extends support during business hours with concierge coordination. All contacts are direct, not routed through a call centre.
Customer Data Privacy
Personal information collected during onboarding is used only for the purposes of managing your arrangement. It is not shared with third parties outside of service partners required to fulfil the arrangement.
Condition Review at Return
Vehicle return follows the same documented inspection process as handover. Both parties review the condition together, and any discrepancies are handled through a defined process outlined in your agreement.
